Words can heal and give us a world to escape to.
I started writing in fifth grade when I got the urge to create something as magnificent as the stories I had read. It quickly became an outlet for me as I began struggling with depression and couldn’t make sense of the emotions I felt swirling inside of me. Years later, I self-published my first book of poems, which told of the many years I felt the darkness within me. Yet, it also included poems of what it was like when I finally began my healing journey.
Now, I am working on my first fantasy trilogy, where my characters will face their own inner demons in their journey to defeat an old, powerful being.
My poems bring to life the complexities of human emotions.
My fantasy stories explore the intricacies of being human.
I believe words on a page can be sewn together to create a tapestry of life never seen before. Stories aren’t just about the author, but also about the connections readers can make to their own lives. I don’t write only for myself, but for those who feel alone and broken-hearted. I use my writing as a way to say, “you are seen and you are not alone.”
